Stormy Weather.
I actually wanted to talk about my tent. I've thought up a way to install a floor in it that can be moved out as part of the canopy. I'm guessing that sentence didn't make much sense to anyone but me. Anyway, I don't have the money to buy more canvas to make the floor of the tent, so that is really more theoretical at this point. Hopefully I won't have forgotten the idea by the time I am able to do it.
The second idea I had is making a hammock which I can suspend from the top pole. That would basically be the best camping bed ever. And if the tent floods, it's not a problem because I'm not on the ground. The only reason I didn't think of that sooner is because for a while I was thinking that it would be prudent to have space for two people to stay in the tent. There's room for two people on the ground, but not in mid-air. But at this point, it's just going to be me in the tent, and probably never anyone else. And I love hammocks. So that settles it.
I still have yet to make the frame of the tent. There is some camping event in September (I've already forgotten what it is) that I think I should aim for having the tent usable (meaning I probably won't have the floor, hammock, or other canopy parts done, but it will be a tent). I haven't been to a camping SCA event before, and a pretty big reason is because I didn't have a tent. Anyway, it's just a matter of cornering my dad when he has free time to get to work on it.

I'm basically damned as far as employment is concerned...
ReplyDeleteRemember how you could always get a job at Dragon's Keep, because they'd be crazy not to hire you?
There are a few people who frequent the Dragon's Keep whom I would rather not run into. Anyway, I'm not into comics or strategy games, be they card or mini based, so I don't think anymore that they would hire me.
