Adventures in Gardening.

Sometime ago, I decided I wanted to have a garden on my balcony. I failed at this goal last year, but I'm slowly building up the ability to pull it off this year. I've managed to keep alive a mint plant and a rosemary plant for a few months now. (Actually the rosemary died, but it was a live for a while, so that's something). I'm going to transplant some of the mint into the rosemary's pot to have twice as much.

Today I set up a planter for some bell peppers, the seeds of which I have been harvesting from store-bought peppers for quite a while now. I made the pot out of empty milk cartons. I think it should work. It took me a while to drink two whole cartons of milk, after I realized that I could use them for planting.

When it stops being cold at night I'll move it all outside, probably. My apartment is always pretty warm these days.

  1. I hope the store pepper seeds work.

  2. From what I've read, they will work fine unless the pepper was a hybrid, in which case the seeds will still grow into plants, but the peppers will taste lame. There's no way to know if I got hybrid peppers, but I think they're more expensive to breed so I doubt they make up the majority of produce.
