1. Make plushies with the small pieces of fabric that are too small for clothes. Stuff plushies with plastic bags, all chopped up for easier stuffing. Plushies can also be stuffed with even smaller scrap fabric.

2. Plastic bags can be used to make rope, but failing that I have plenty of cording. I want to put up a clothes-drying line in my apartment. On the other hand I still have to go to Murray to wash my clothes, so that might be kind of pointless.

3. I've been looking at DIY self-watering plant pots and I think this would be efficacious for the balcony garden which I failed to do this year, but hopefully, with greater inspiration, will be able to set up next year. I am willing to accept donations of 2- and 3-liter bottles (as well as other, larger plastic containers) to this end.

I had a bamboo plant that I put on my balcony, watered once, and three days later "checked" on it to see that it was thoroughly dead. Self-watering containers are going to be necessary if I want this to work.

  1. one christmas i asked for a cactus plant (knowing my inability to care for anything else living). instead i received a bonsai tree...

p.s. ben has been the primary waterer of the lawn and garden this year; meaning i watered once or twice.

p.p.s i think you should go for the plushies anyway.
