Tent. (Worked really well.)
Yay tent!
I still need to add ties to the doors as closures. And maybe some more tabs on the canvas where all the poles meet at the top, that I can hook over the upright poles to keep the canvas tight when erecting the tent. But everything else is awesome.
Addressing my last post:
Re: 1. I got some lynch pins and some thumb screws, and they worked really well as pins. They didn't fall out easily. Good tension.
Re: 2. I sewed the loops on the top of the canvas for the top pole, as you can see. Worked really well. I just hope the sewing is strong enough to last a long time.
Re: 3. I made the canopy exactly as I said. Worked really well.
Re: 4. Got some metal stakes. The tent has enough tension now, with the better pins, that I don't need to stake it down, but I do need tension lines for the canopy, so a couple stakes are used there. They are not nice medieval-looking stakes, but they're way better than the ones I had before, and they're not too noticeable.
