Tent.

My Viking tent is nearly finished. We've been working on the wood on and off for about 3 weeks. I was going to have a bunch of photos about that, but my camera died the very day we started working on the wood. Suffice to say that it's mostly been my dad doing a lot of stuff with saws, planers, drills, chisels and files. I helped a little.

Today we put up the tent and I saw that the doors didn't really work out like they mathematically should have (seriously, I don't understand it), so now I'm doing more sewing to reshape the doors. Also I'll be sewing on some more fabric (plaid wool I've had laying around for a while) to serve dual function as the tent floor and the canopy roof. My main concern there is that it's completely not waterproof, and therefore an issue if I'm camping and it rains . . . but hopefully at that point I'll have something to sleep on that elevates me enough off the ground that a wet floor won't be a problem.

As for the hardware, we just need to make the pegs that hold it together, and probably some stakes, and figure out exactly the best configuration for the canopy. The tent will be functional in 4 days so we can use it at Sleepy Millcreek Hollow. I'll have to add more stuff later, like ties for the doors, but it will be functional.

Sorry I didn't get a photo of the tent when it was up. Coming soon, I swear.
