Comparison.

Alice in Wonderland and The Wizard of Oz.

Two stories about girls (in blue dresses) who accidentally get transported to some magical (drug-induced) world and spend the rest of the story wandering about, trying to get home.

Two stories that everyone else seems to love and obsess over. Two stories that I can't stand.

Just thought I'd get that out there.

  1. Does Alice have a blue dress in the book or just in the Disney version?

  2. It's been too long since I read the book for me to remember.

  4. I find the stories to be incredibly boring. The main characters are flat caricatures and the plot is nearly nonexistent. There's hardly a scrap of volition to be found. All this is aggressed by the adoration heaped upon the stories by the massive public. You say "Why don't you like them," and I say "What is there to like?"
