Brain Crack.

The Curse of the Rotten Thread

It was late one lonely night
When she sat down to sew;
She wound her bobbin not too tight
The thread was all set up to go;
With expert fingers and keen eye
The fabric joined into a seam;
But that bobbin thread, it broke;
Cut thread, pull out, rewind, and scream

As that thread broke once again--
Not once but twice and thrice again.
It broke in inches, it broke from stitches
It broke with every needle's cut.
She sewed, it broke. She pulled, it broke.
She tried the thread until she died, somewhat . . .

And now she wanders crowded rooms
Where crafters cut and toil
Moaning out her message from
Beyond the mortal coil
The unliving dead, she haunts them,
With her tidings thus to share:
"Beware of buying vintage thread!
Beware! Beware! Beware!"

  1. At least frustrating experiences oft make for good blog posts. I like your poems.
