So admittedly most of this is just a clever ruse for roleplaying. But it's interesting to think about the many variations that could occur for a single event. And this is leaving out the more straight generic stuff like "Victorian" or "medieval."
For Liz: I have two etiquette books now, and they both mention tea parties of the formal and informal type. I will try to remember to scan the pages and send them to you.
You could have Napoleonic or Regency period without it being Jane Austen, with either original characters or perhaps a 'Lake Geneva' theme.
ReplyDeleteI don't suggest a Star Trek theme, but it would be splendid to have tea with Jean-Luc Picard. Such a decent fellow!
Having the theme be a general time period is too non-specific, I think. Also I hate basically everything about the Regency era. I wrote Jane Austen with the knowledge that most girls, if there's going to be a Regency theme, would prefer that it be specifically Jane Austen. With that in mind, I could probably implement a Poe or Sir Doyle theme to overarch Victorian.
