Wrock Basics The H - W

These are my favorite bands so far (alphabetical order). I'm keeping the recommended songs to 2, believe me, there is so much more I could recommend. And regarding the "sounds like", please bear in mind that I am NOT a musical genre expert, as much as I wish I was.

So go check out their websites, and if you find you like any of these bands a lot, buy their cds! I did!

The Hermione Crookshanks Experience
Sounds like: synthpop
Songs: Ready and Prepared; Trelawny
Wins: best Hermione band

The House of Black
Sounds like: house, techno, goth, acoustic
Songs: Potter Addict; I Think My Boyfriend is a Deatheater
Wins: Techno that doesn’t really annoy me

The Hufflepunks
Sounds like: punk rawk, hip-hop, ska
Songs: A Letter for You Harry; The Prophet
Wins: has that excellent indie/local ska/punk sound

The Marauders
Sounds like: indie, acoustic
Songs: Snape’s Worst Memory; Ghost Ballet
Wins: prepubescent wrock that doesn’t totally suck—you have no idea how rare this is

The Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office
Sounds like: electronica, rock
Songs: Albus’s Adagio; Occlumency Lessions
Wins: They’re like Ministry of Magic’s guitar-wielding younger brother (which is especially awesome because they’re a department in the MoM)

The Moaning Myrtles
Sounds like: jazz/hot jazz/swing, acoustic
Songs: Emo Guy; And Then I Died
Wins: So fun and whimsical, and with a delightfully dirty sense of humor

The Mudbloods
Sounds like: pop rock, filk
Songs: Zombies!; Concerning Dementors

Songs: Voldy is a Waste; A Different Kind with Marked As His Equal

Wins: The Red Hair Project is such a great example of giving to the community, and great sound mixing
