Post-Modernism / Post-Structuralism - determinant:
Anti-scientific - need for a language to speak about language
liberty to question everything, no fixed meaning
no permanent determinant, the only for sure thing is that nothing is for sure
key concepts:
Signifier/signified relationship
even in own system, nothing is guaranteed - the center only has meaning in own system
binaries don't hold
play
interaction/manipulation of text
deconstruction/reconstruction
deconstruction - exposing gaps/inconsistency in texts (playful, not destructive)
reconstruction - relate to other texts (all texts are related somehow)
intertextuality
No new creation, just shuffling - all texts are just a result of previous texts, exponential dissimulation of meaning
self-reflexivity
awareness of self as text
irony
This is a big part of my ideology.
